“Love Blossoms at Château Robles: Why I Share My Rose Garden for Weddings”
There’s something about the way the golden light hits the vineyard at dusk. It’s soft and warm, like a memory you want to hold onto forever.
When my husband Craig and I first bought the vineyard house, it was meant to be a quiet escape — a place for weekend retreats, good wine, and long walks among the rows of grapes. But over time, it became something more. It became a place where love took root.
Tucked between the sun-drenched soft hills and whispering vines of my vineyard lies the heart of Château Robles: a rose garden that seems to bloom just for love.
When I first stepped foot on this land, I knew it held something special — a quiet whimsical kind of magic. The château inspired house had an old-world grace to it, the kind you feel before you see. Surrounding the house, the vines rolled out like green velvet in rows and rows, and nestled among them, the romantic rose garden. I love the rose garden, not just for its beauty, but for the feeling they bring — timeless, fragrant, alive.
The first wedding on the property was almost by accident. A friend of a friend asked if they could say their vows in the rose garden followed by a reception in the vineyard. I said yes without thinking too much of it. But when I saw the bride walking through the garden, dress brushing the tips of the grass, her father crying quietly beside her — I knew this place was meant for more than just our solitude.
Now, couples come from near and far to marry in the rose-covered garden, where sunlight filters through petals like stained glass, and the air carries the scent of celebration. The vineyard stretches beyond them like a promise — steady, rooted, eternal. Making beautiful memories in unforgettable photos.
What I love most isn’t just the beauty of the events, though there’s plenty of that. It’s watching people make this place part of their story. It’s the knowledge that the old garden statues now witnessed and hold dozens of “I do’s,” and the vineyard air has carried hundreds of promises whispered between lovers.
Every wedding leaves something behind here: a little more warmth in the walls, a little more music in the air. The garden grows fuller, the vines stronger, the stories richer.
That’s why I rent my vineyard house out for weddings, because I believe this place was always meant to be a witness to love. I never imagined those roses would become witnesses to so many love stories.
